Funeral services for Mary Edna Mitchel, 96, of Longview, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 23, 2019, in the Chapel of McWhorter Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rosewood Park, Longview, Texas. The family will receive friends 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., prior to the service.

Mary was born November 21, 1922, to Elisha Moon and Anna Marie Topple Moon, in Mesquite, Texas, and passed away February 20, 2019, in Gilmer, Texas. She married Thomas Mitchel in July, 1944, and he preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Donald Mitchel, and wife, Nell, of Sadler, Texas; daughter, Ann Winniford, of Longview, Texas; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Thomas Mitchel; sons, Charles Mitchel and Paul Mitchel; and by four brothers and two sisters.
