Mary’s Obituary Close to her husband, surrounded by friends, and in the arms of her children, Mary Elizabeth Renzo passed away on May 16th, 2019, after a fearless 6-year battle with cancer. Born in Long Branch, Mary was a true Jersey girl. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and friend.

Her most profound accomplishment was being a Meema. She lived for her grandchildren and gave each of them all of her; loving them “equally different”. She was beautiful and brave, capable and kind beyond measure.

She never missed a detail, whether it be gardening, crafting, cooking, or creating the most perfect family traditions. Besides time with her family, Mary’s best days would be ‘yardsaling’, walking barefoot past the lilacs, listening to country music, watching the cardinals fly by. She is predeceased by her father George Yost; mother Georgiana ‘Ma’ Hickman, (who was her mentor, greatest ally, and truest friend); as well as her eldest brother, Johnny.

Surviving is her husband Peter, to whom she loved as only SHE could, for 36 years. Her three children- Daughter, Nicole Leonhardt and husband Christopher of Point Pleasant. Two sons, Vincent Renzo and girlfriend Ariel Metts of Florida; Alec Renzo of Brick.

Her grandchildren, Caden, Dominick, Colton, Charlotte, Callie, Camryn, Marceline and Elizabeth. She leaves behind very special friendships; Cheryl Price, Marty Wallenstein, Linda Schweitzer, & Denise Wayne. She is also survived by three brothers, George, Eugene, & Lou, and a sister, Edith.

A memorial gathering will be offered on Monday May 20th, 2019 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Colonial Funeral Home 2170 Hwy. 88 Brick. A Memorial service will also be given on Monday at 5:30 in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Princess Quinn’s Journey with Kleefstra Syndrome 2133 Riviera Parkway Point Pleasant, NJ 08742.
