Mary Ellen Sims Sylacauga, AL – Funeral service for Mary Ellen Sims, 93, will be Friday, May 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Talladega Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Joe Camp officiating. Burial will be in Talladega Springs Cemetery in Talladega Springs, AL.

Mrs. Sims died Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arrie and Stella Barnett, husband of 62 years, John Edward Sims, daughter, Stella Faye Sims, sister, Bonnie McGrady, sister, Jewell Hale, brother, Ronald “Bootsie” Barnett and grandson, John Wayne Sims, Jr Mrs. Sims loved flowers, especially African violets, music – country & gospel, her home and last but not least her family.

She is survived by six sons, John Wayne Sims (Myrtle) of Stewartville, Edward Stoe Sims (Trudi) of Walden, NY, Joe Allen Sims (Angie) of Talladega Springs, Bruce Eugene Sims (Charlene) of Clanton, Arrie Alvin Sims (Connie) of Denver, CO, Walter Scott Sims (Daylynn) of Opelika; two daughters, Cheryldene H Sullivan of Sycamore, Polly H Blades (Richard) of Sylacauga; two brothers, Arrie S. Barnett of Stuarts Draft, VA, Thomas L Barnett of Fayetteville; three sisters, Joree Vance of Leeds, Mary Underwood of Palmetto, FL, Lydia Honeycutt of Bessemer; 25 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and 13 great great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home. Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.
