Mary “Emilee” Rhodes May 03, 1931 – January 17, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mary “Emilee” Rhodes, age 87, of Rhodelia, KY, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Indian Creek Health and Rehabilitation in Corydon, IN. Emilee was born May 3, 1931 in Meade county KY, to the late Gerald and Effie June Chism Peters. Emilee attended grade school at St. Theresa and High School at Flaherty Boarding School.

She was a loving housewife, worked as a cook at Cross Road School in the early 1970’s, she was an active member of St. Theresa Church, a member of the Alter Society where she was secretary for one term, cooked for funeral meals, worked at the picnics and visited the sick members of the community. She and Walter square danced for many years. She enjoyed fishing, boating, embroidering, traveling, bingo, card playing and being with her family and friends.

Her husband of 63 years, Walter Rhodes, granddaughter, Jessica Rhodes , grandson, Bradley Rhodes and her great granddaughter, Brooke Horsley preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother, Billy (Ann) Peters of Russelville, KY; seven children, Diane (Randy) Hurt of Webster, Lynn (David) Wilkins, Ricky (Barbara) Rhodes, David (Ruthie) Rhodes, Phillip (Brenda) Rhodes all of Rhodelia, KY, Tommy (Marie) Rhodes of Payneville, KY and Scott (Alisha) Rhodes of Bonita Springs, FL; 18 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; 3 sister-in laws, Norma Mattingly of Virginia, Margie Manning and Florence Vessels both of Louisville, KY and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 1 P.M. EST at St. Theresa Church in Payneville, KY with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Public visitation will be held Tuesday from 11 A.M. EST until the time of service at the church.
