Obituary for Mary Faye “Faye” Hoisington (Jack) Mary Faye J. Hoisington, 100, of Kennebunk, Maine and formerly of Ann Arbor, Michigan, died on January 16, 2019, seven days shy of her 101st birthday. She was born on January 23, 1918 in Detroit, Michigan to Earle and Ruby (Haskins) Jack. Faye resided in Ann Arbor, Michigan for over 50 years and in 2003 moved to Kennebunk, Maine.

She graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1940 and taught kindergarten in Saginaw, Michigan. On April 5, 1941 she married Robert H. Hoisington and became a “war bride” for 4½ years. They raised their family in Ann Arbor, Michigan as Mr. Hoisington was affiliated with the University of Michigan for over 36 years.

Faye belonged to the First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor, Michigan and served as a Deacon. She was a member of the Faculty Women’s Club and Phi Delta Theta Sorority. Her hobbies included: compiling the “History and Genealogies” for the Jack and Hoisington families, needlework, gardening, sports, travel, and her love of birds and nature.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Earle and Ruby Jack; brother, E. Keith Jack; sister, Vivian Jack Peerbolte; and loving husband of 70 years, Robert H. Hoisington. She is survived by her son, Jack and his wife, Cheryl of Florence, Arizona; daughter, Joan and her husband, Steven of Kennebunk, Maine; four grandchildren, Tracy Hoisington and her husband, Dale Taylor, William and his wife, Jessica Hoisington, Robert and his wife, Hydi Prentice, and Seth and his wife, Jennifer; ten great-grandchildren, Alexander, Owen, Aubrey, Ayla, Maxim, Zachary, Katelyn, Audrianna, Sara and Michael; two step great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service and internment will be at Washtenong Memorial Park Mausoleum in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
