Mary G. Buckley, 80, of Golden, died at 3:03 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy. Born May 2, 1937, in Quincy, Mary was a daughter of Fred D. and Lucinda R. Behrens Leerhoff. She married Robert D. Buckley March 30, 1958, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clayton.

He preceded her in death on April 14, 1999. Mary attended Blue Stocking School, Log School, Good Shepherd Parochial School, and graduated from Brown County High School. She had been employed at Grandview Manor Nursing Home and Royalty’s Department Store in Camp Point and later at Methode Electronics in Golden.

Mary was a member of the Golden American Legion Auxilary. She attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clayton. Survivors include her daughter, Janie (Gary) Buss, Golden; two sons, Rodney Buckley (Wendy), Quincy, and Ronald Buckley, Golden; seven grandchildren, Ashley Dearwester (Nick), Katy Buss (fiance’ Bryan Ideas) Taylor Buss, Amanda Klingele (Bryan), Dalton Buckley, Damien Buckley, and 1st Lt.

Jordan Buckley (Abby); four great grandchildren, Winston Dearwester, Vallie Klingele, Amelia Buckley, and Jack Buckley; two brothers, Ralph Leerhoff, Versailles, and Fred Leerhoff, Quincy; two brothers in law, Howard Buckley (Joan), Quincy, and Max Buckley (Susie), Mt. Sterling; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Geraldine Holtman, and two brothers, Donald Leerhoff and Roger Leerhoff.

Funeral Services will be held Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bowen by Rev. Larry Troxel. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens, Golden.

Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Clayton. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or the Blessing Foundation for Hospice. Online condolences may be left at www.
