Obituary for Mary K. Arth Mary K. Arth, 91, passed away at 9:08 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon, Illinois. She was born August 20, 1926, in Edwardsville, the daughter of the late George A. & Eleanor (Hyten) Schwalb. She married Alvin Joseph Arth, April 10, 1947, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville.

He preceded her in death on February 3, 2014. Mary worked as a Secretary for the Edwardsville School District for 12 years. She & her husband then became the first owner of the Farm Fresh Milk Store in Edwardsville and operated that until 1969, she then went to work for the Edwardsville Township Tax Collector.

She is survived by three sons, Allen Arth & wife Ginger of Danville, KY, Gary Arth & Jacque Eichman of Cape Coral, FL, Greg Arth & wife Sheila of Edwardsville; seven grandchildren, Chris (Kaye) Arth, Dane (April) Arth, Loren (Jessica) Arth, Eric Arth, Tim (Mika) Arth, Garrett (Brittany) Arth & Aaron (Kimberly) Arth; great grandchildren, Alexander, Mary, Atticus, Isabella, Harley, Tristan, Nicholas, Alexandra, Jacqueline, Grant; two great great grandchildren; one brother Arlyn Schwalb & wife Verlene of Edwardsville & special friend Leigh. Mary was preceded in death by one sister Jean Franz & one brother Robert Schwalb. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, St. Boniface Ladies Guild and Edwardsville High School Class of 1944.

Mary loved to travel, play cards, square dancing and ballroom dancing. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at St. Boniface Catholic Church with the Very Reverend Jeffrey Goeckner officiating.

Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Glen Carbon. The family request memorials to St. Boniface, Susan G. Komen Foundation or Masses. Condolences may be expressed online at weberfuneralhome.com.
