Mary “Kathryn” McCraine Summerlin, 83, of Hurtsboro, AL passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 16, 2019 in the comfort of her home while surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am CST Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Hurtsboro with Pastor Chris Webb officiating. Interment will follow at the Hurtsboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 am CST, one hour prior to the service at the church. Mrs. Summerlin was born February 24, 1936 in Headland, AL to the late George Washington McCraine and Willie Bessie Bryan McCraine. She had worked as a seamstress for York Sports Ware in Hurtsboro for many years.

She had served as a Den Mother for the local Cub Scouts. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, and visiting the beach, but the greatest joy was the love of her huge family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hurtsboro.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Phil Rutherford, Sr., and Charles Norris, Sr., one son, Wayne Rutherford, sister, Ella Turner, and two brothers, Thomas McCraine, and Charles McCraine. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Ivey Gray Summerlin, (5) children, Dean Rutherford and wife Faye, Denise Bennett and husband Butch, David Rutherford and wife Lisa, Bess Vann, and Joe Rutherford and wife Beth, step-children, Phil Rutherford, Jr., Michael “Ken” Summerlin and wife Lisa, Larry W. Summerlin, Chuck Norris and wife Glenda, Jeri Hollon and husband Ben, Jo Anderson, and Andy Norris and wife Amy, two sisters, Sue Bucklew, and Sarah Allen, and four brothers, Eddie McCraine and wife Debbie, John Louie McCraine and wife Diane, Mac McCraine and wife Karen, and Lynn McCraine and wife Toni; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
