Mary’s Obituary Dodge City – Mary Lou Agur, 87, died January 19, 2019 at the Minneola District Hospital, Minneola. She was born on July 25, 1931 at Carey, Ohio the daughter of Russell and Irene (Lang) Thom. Mary Lou moved with her family to Dodge City in 1939 and was a 1950 graduate of Dodge City High School.

On March 16, 1954 she married Vernon Agur at the First United Methodist Church in Dodge City. They spent their life on the family farm where she helped her husband farm and ranch. Mary Lou and Vernon enjoyed traveling, square dancing and going to auctions.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, Happy Hour Extension Unit, Past leader of Kean Klipper 4H Club, Women of the Moose, Par Square Dance Club and Farm Bureau Women. Mary Lou is survived by her husband of 64 years, Vernon Agur of Dodge City; a daughter, Karen Agur of Dodge City, two sons, Roger Agur and wife Tina and Larry Agur and wife Cyd both of Dodge City; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren; a sister, Nancy Carmichael of Anthony, and a sister-in-law, Eunice Thom of El Dorado. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Gene Thom; and brother-in-law, Mike Carmichael.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Tuesday January 22, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Private family burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Monday January 21, 2019 from Noon to 8:00 PM.
