Mary M. Thompson, of Edison, NJ and Hanover, MA, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2018. Beloved mother of Jeffrey Thompson and his wife Katherine of San Rafael, CA, Richard Thompson and his wife Mary of Norwell, MA, and Mary Lisa Thompson of Edison, NJ. Loving grandmother of Christopher Thompson and his wife Kelli, Andrew Thompson and his wife Patricia, Molly Callison and her husband Christian, and Hank Thompson.

Devoted great grandmother of Brady, Ella, Rory, and Teddy Thompson and Finley Callison. Also survived by her brothers Al and Joseph Lidon and sister in law Peggy Lidon. Mary was born in Elizabeth, NJ and lived most of her life in her cherished home in Edison, NJ.

She attended Battin High School in Elizabeth and started her professional life working in New York City. Mary lovingly raised her family in Edison and worked at Spex Industries for more than 30 years, where she met many lifelong friends. She loved to travel and was also an avid Bridge and tennis player and golfer with a hearty zest for life.

Mary’s true love was first and foremost her family. She was loved and cherished by all who knew her and will be sorely missed by her family and friends. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 10:15 am at St. Francis Church, 32 Elm Ave, Metuchen, NJ, 08840.

Interment St. Gertrude Cemetery, 53 Inman Ave, Colonia, NJ 07067. All friends and family are warmly invited to attend all services.
