Mary Margaret Humphreys, 79, of Waynesboro, died peacefully Saturday, September 22, 2018 at her home. She was born on April 3, 1939 in Waynesboro, Virginia. Mary was preceded in death by her parents David L. Humphreys and Margaret E. (Strickler) Humphreys; two brothers, Martin L. Humphreys and Glenn T. Humphreys; and son, David L. Humphreys.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a graduate of Wayside Bible College and a member of Wayside Baptist Church, Waynesboro, VA. Mary was an avid cat lover, she loved cooking, reading and was a sports fanatic.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Hospice of the Shenandoah, Lee Anne Cruse, Jill Pingel, Adrienne Turner, Arial Kenny, and Cindy Powell. She is survived by two children, Frank Humphreys of Waynesboro, and Nancy Cason also of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, Dana Cash, Andrew Wilkins, Ashley Riddle, Amanda Pitsenbarger; and 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by special friends Tana Ferrier, Dawn Loving, Robert and Debbie McCracken, and Gary and Carolyn Mclaughlin.

There will be a graveside service at 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at Riverview Cemetery, 420 Rosser Ave. Waynesboro, VA 22980 with officiant, Robert McCracken. Honorary pallbearers are Tom Moore, Casey McCracken, Shawn Riddle, Dallas Rittenhouse, Mike Pannell, Shawn Hamlett, and Dennis Wolfe.

The family is being served by Charlton and Groome Funeral Home of Fishersville.
