Elon – Mary Saul Beale, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family. A native of Alamance County, she was born January 18, 1937 to the late Addison Yarborough Saul, Sr. and Ruth Pauline Smithey Saul and was the wife of nearly 20 years to Garland Leroy Beale, Jr. of the home. Mary was a longtime member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Garland Beale of the home; sons, Coy Graves, Jr., Wayne Graves and wife Jeanne, Wade Graves and wife Angie and David Beale and wife Lou; daughter, Rhonda Bowers and husband Frosty; stepson, Jerry Beale; stepdaughters, Teresa Simmons, Beth Heath and Kristy Hardy and husband Randy; 12 grandchildren, 15 step grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren; brother, Bill Saul; sisters, Shirley Ward, Pat Haizlip and husband Leon; niece (like a daughter), Sherri Brown and numerous other nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Deborah Thompson; step great grandson, Michael Thompson; sisters, Jeanette Apple, Alice Baughn and brothers, A.Y. Saul, Jr. and Levi Saul. A service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held 2:00pm on Monday, April 16, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church by Pastor Randy Hobbs and her grandson, Pastor Johnathan Graves with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45pm prior to the service at the church and other times at the son, Wayne’s home at 1170 Mountainside Ln. in Burlington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church at 1525 Flora Ave, Burlington, NC 27217 or to Riverdale Baptist Church at 1335 Haw River Hopedale Rd, Burlington, NC 27217.
