Mr. Carl Edward Ireland Jr. age 68 of 616 W. Trollinger Ave. transitioned on May 5, 2018. Mr. Ireland was the son of Mr. Carl Edward Ireland Sr. and Mrs. Mary Gant Ireland both deceased.

He was a devoted member of Elon First Baptist Church where he sang with the Male Chorus and served as President. He also sang with the Senior Choir and the Combined Choir. He truly loved the Lord, people and singing.

The life and legacy of Mr. Ireland will be forever cherished in the mind and heart of his daughter, Riva Ireland, sisters, Mary Frances Mitchell (Norman) and Hazel Carter (Kenneth) and his fiancé, Effie Swift. Mr. Ireland was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Foust(Andrew) and Delois Fields (William). The family will receive visitors at other times at the home of his sister, Mary Frances Mitchell at 499 W. Trollinger Ave.
