Mr. Elmer “Plink” Covington Sr. age 76 of 2833 Anderson Rd. Transitioned on Sunday May 13, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Covington Sr. was the son of Mr. Robert Covington Sr. and Mrs. Maggie Garrison Covington both deceased.

“Plink” is survived by his wife Bettie Degraffenreidt Covington, daughter, Bonita C. Bigelow (Lawrence); three sons, Elmer Covington, Jr. (Patricia), Patrick Covington, and Rev. C.L Covington (Wendy); 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Mr. Covington was preceded in death by his siblings, Benny, Lawrence, Archie, Robert Jr., Horice, Cecil, Samuel, Vance, Alice, Hattie and Elizabeth.

“Plink” was a member of Arches Grove UCC. He organized the “Mighty Gospel Travelers”, “New Gospel Travelers” and he sang with the “Five Singing Stars”. He was a carpenter and a gardener, “Plink” was a good man and a friend to all.
