Mr. DeCarlos Monroe was born March 21, 1953 to Alexander Monroe and Thomasine Mackey Monroe in Franklin, Indiana. He departed this life May 12, 2018 at Cone Health Alamance Regional Medical Center. He served his country for 10 years with the United States Army.

During his tenure, Sergeant Monroe received the Good Conduct Medal (double recipient), the National Defense Service Medal, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon with numeral 1, an Air Assault Badge and the Army Service Ribbon. Survivors include: his wife: Monica Walker Monroe; 5 siblings: Vaughn Monroe, Darcy Monroe, Allen Monroe, Francine Monroe and Anna Monroe as well as many nieces, nephews other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three siblings: Herman Monroe, George Monroe and Teresa Monroe.
