Mary Ehlers, 96 passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 at the NJ Veterans Memorial Home in Paramus. Born in Elizabeth Mary resided in Edison for 60 years before moving to Ridgefield in 2010. Mary was a waitress for the Plainfield Country Club for 25 years before retiring in 1975.

She was a member of St. Cecelia’s Rosary Society, the Special Olympics and the ARC. Mary is predeceased by her parents William and Mary (Caughlin) Sheehan, her spouse Wilbur, brother William and sisters Charlotte, Eleanor and Ann. Surviving are her sons; George Ehlers, William Ehlers and his wife Vita and Joseph Ehlers, her daughters; Eleanor Barbetti and her husband Steven and Barbara Catherina and her husband Edward, 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren also her loving care giver companion and friend of 10 years her girl Lily.

Visitation Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 3:00 – 7:00PM at the Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison. Funeral Service 10:00AM Friday May 11, 2018 at the funeral home followed by a 11:00AM Mass at St. Helena Church, Edison. Burial in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.

In Lieu of flowers perform an act of kindness for someone in Mary’s name as that is how she lived her life.
