Matthew Tamke, 41, of Murphysboro, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, in Murphysboro. Matthew was born April 14, 1977, in Memphis, TN, to the late John William Tamke and Claire (Weber) Porter, Claire survives of Murphysboro. Matthew was a member of St. Andrew Church.

He attended grade school at St. Andrew School, he was a graduate of Murphysboro High School and had attended college at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi. Cremation has been accorded. Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro.

Deacon Don Sparling of St. Andrew Catholic Church will officiate; burial of cremains will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery in Murphysboro. Memorials are the preferred form of remembrance and may be made to St. Andrew School. Survivors include his mother and step-father, Claire and Steve Porter of Murphysboro; two brothers, Taylor Tamke and Weber Tamke; one sister, Abbey (Cody) Lee of Murphysboro; one brother, Evan (Olivia) Porter of Carterville; and one niece, Isla Porter.
