He was born January 19, 1982 in Lorain. Matthew was a lifetime resident of Lorain, graduating from Admiral High School with the class of 2000, he also attended Lorain County Joint Vocational School.

Matthew continued his education by attending Kent State University and Lorain County Community College. He also graduated from Great Lakes Driving School. Matthew was a bright and talented guy.

He had a passion for sports, cars, cooking and family. Matthew was capable of naming most professional athletes complete with their history. He loved playing Fantasy football.

Matthew could identify almost every car on the road or in the news. He loved to cook and often competed with his mother. Matthew occasionally “doctored up” her dishes when she wasn’t looking.

Family was the thing that brought him the most joy. He was the “go to” guy for them and the neighbors when help was needed, especially with plumbing or car problems. Matthew was previously a cross country truck driver with Western Express.

. Survivors include his parents Keith J. and Kathleen E. Lilly (nee: Syrowski); and his only brother Adam D. Lilly and his wife Candace. Friends may call Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 3:00 until the time of the funeral at 7:00 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave.

, Amherst. The Deacon Patrick Humphrey of St. Jude Catholic Church in Elyria will officiate. Private burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
