Funeral services for Maurice M. Rotherham, 91, of Norfolk, formerly of Madison will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at St. Leonard’s Catholic Church, Madison. Burial will be in St. Leonard’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the church with a 7 p.m. Rosary.

Resseguie Funeral Home, is in charge of arrangements. Maurice died Friday, October 12, 2018 at Norfolk Veterans Home. Maurice was born July 6, 1927, to William C. and Mary Agnes (Bauer) Rotherham at Ewing, NE.

They moved to Tilden and Maurice attended school in Tilden. The family then moved to Newman Grove. Maurice entered the United States Navy on July 4, 1945 and received his honorable discharge July 25, 1946.

Maurice married Rona Eileen Nahrstedt, April 15, 1948, at Saint Leonard’s Catholic Church in Madison, they made their home in Madison. Maurice was a drivers license examiner for 29 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Madison American Legion, the Stanton VFW and was on the Madison Volunteer Fire Department for over 50 years.

Maurice enjoyed, shingling, cutting wood and fishing. Maurice is survived by his wife Eileen, their 8 children, Terry and Marsha Rotherham of Oregon, WI, Richard and Mary Rotherham of Lincoln, Bob and Carol Rotherham, Norfolk, Sue and Jeff Trausch of Lincoln, Kitt Rotherham of Norfolk, Rock and Jackie Rotherham of Columbus, Krystal and Dick Rung of Lincoln, Tanya and Scott Scheffler of Madison, 23 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren a brother William and Celeste Rotherham of Dothan, Georgia, 3 sisters, Loretta Meiers of Grand Island, Virginia Baker of Riverside, CA and Henrietta Willman of Omaha. He was preceded in death by his parents, a great-granddaughter, Elin Trausch, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
