Mike Antonas, 87 Campbell…Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, with Rev. Steve Denas officiating, for Mike Antonas, 87, who passed away Friday morning, April 20, 2018, with his family by his side. Mike was born March 23, 1931, in Kalymnos, Greece, to Ioannis A. Antonas and Ypapanti Mastrovaseles.

Mike served in the Greek Army before immigrating to America in 1957. He was employed by the Youngstown Sheet & Tube Company in the Hot Strip Department until its closing. He received a certificate for Pro of the month.

After the closing of the Sheet and Tube mill, Mike worked with his son-in-law as an industrial bridge painter with North Star Painting. Mike enjoyed his yearly vacations to Clearwater Beach, FL with his family and friends. Mike also was an avid hunter and loved hunting with his brothers and his friends.

He enjoyed his daily trips to McDonalds and hanging out with his friends. Mike was a member of the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, where he served on parish council. He was a member of the Prodromos Men’s Kalymnian Society, The Lowellville Rod & Gun Club, and the Steelworkers Local #1466.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Anastasia (Tessie) Diamantes, whom he married October 20, 1957, in Kalymnos, Greece; his three daughters, Irene (Nick) Kalouris, Pandee Rozum, and Beth (Robert) Beeson; six grandchildren, Eddie J. Rozum, Anastasia (Manoli) Pilatos, Michael J. Rozum, Ioannis (Demi) Kalouris, Robert Beeson Jr., and Michael Beeson; three great-grandchildren, Giorgios, Nikolaos and Panteleimon Pilatos; his siblings Manuel Antonas, Beth (Nick) Christopoulos, and Elias (Galatiani) Antonas; along with many nieces; and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Antoni Antonas; nephew John Antonas; and beloved mother-in-law Irene Diamantes. The Antonas family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home and will receive family and friends Tuesday from 5-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and again Wednesday from 9:30-10:00 a.m. at the church, prior to the 10:00 a.m. funeral service.
