Mildred Childs Thomas July 14, 1944 – November 30, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mildred Childs Thomas, 74, of 919 Taggart Avenue, Greenwood, South Carolina entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in McCormick County, South Carolina on July 14, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Mamie Childs. She attended the public school system in McCormick County and was a member of Open Door Holiness Church in Greenwood, South Carolina where she was the mother of the church.

She also was a member of the Women’s Home Aide Society Number 87. She was formerly employed with the Greenwood Methodist Home (now Wesley Commons) and the Visiting Nurses for many years. Leaving to cherish her most precious memories are; her husband, Elder Andrew Thomas of the home, two daughters, Janie Harrison and Hope Thomas both of Greenwood, South Carolina; one son, James Thomas of Greenwood, South Carolina; one step daughter, Miriam Christian of Greenwood, South Carolina; two Godsons, Joshua Durant of Greenwood, South Carolina and George Durant of McCormick, South Carolina; one Goddaughter, Donna Coats of Greenwood, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Jamieson Lamont Thomas, Andrew Tyrone Harrison, Keith Marquis Harrison, Dyaisha Thomas, Paris Ross, and Kaden Thomas; eight great grandchildren; one brother, James Childs of Greenwood, South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Holy Tabernacle Holiness Church in Greenwood, South Carolina. Burial will be in Overbrook Cemetery in McCormick, South Carolina. Pallbearers and Flower Bearers will be family and friends.

There will be no public viewing. The family is at the home. Parks Funeral Home is assisting the Thomas Family.
