Mildred Lucille “Billie” Markee, 95, formerly of Sullivan, Indiana, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at Faith Countryside Care Center in Highland, Illinois. She was born in Sullivan Co., Indiana September 11, 1922 the daughter of Paul Pollock and Mildred Anita Greene Pollock-Drake. Mrs. Markee was a former 3rd grade teacher for 26 years in Southwest School Corporation.

She was a member of the Sullivan First United Methodist Church over 50 years where she was choir director for 21 years, also a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the Friday Afternoon Club. Billie was preceded in death by her parents, also her husband of 59 years Allen Reed Markee, brother, Jan Pollock and sister, Patricia Hook. Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Alsman (Lonnie) of Highland, Ill, Linda Jackle (Karl) of Stoughton, MA, Susan E. Jones (William) of Indianapolis, IN, six grandchildren Kathy Wagner (Dave), Laura Reibold (Rod), Jill Watkins (William) William H. Jones Jr.(Kathy), Angela Harr (Chris) and Scott McCammon, fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, IN with Pastor Ben Cassiday officiating. Burial will follow in the Center Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00PM until 8:00PM Tuesday and before services Wednesday.
