Phillip Allen Hobbs, 80, of Shelburn, IN passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018. He was born in Sullivan Co., IN August 26, 1937 the son of Cleveland Earl Hobbs and Edith Thrasher Hobbs. He was preceded in death by his parents, a step son, Robert Earl Kennedy, two brothers, Donald Hobbs and William Hobbs and a sister, Dorothy Weddle.

Phillip was an Army Reserve Veteran and a lifelong farmer. Survivors include his wife, Susan Gormong Hobbs, daughter, Dianna Hobbs-Thurston (Norman) of Terre Haute, IN, a sister Earlene Bolenbaugh (Tom) of New Lebanon, IN, step son Mark Kennedy (Jess) of Sullivan, IN four step grandchildren, Robert Allen, and Kela Mae Kennedy, Coltin and Cullin Kennedy, three step great grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 1:00PM Monday, June 11, 2018 at Mt Zion Cemetery.

There will be no visitation. Cremation was chosen. Arrangements were entrusted to Brust Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Humane Society of your choice.
