Mildred Marie Roberts, 87, fell asleep in death at 5:46 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2018 at her home in Urbana, surrounded by her family. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2018 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2602 West Bloomington Road, Champaign, IL. Elder Rodney Meikamp will officiate.

There will be no public visitation. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is assisting the family. “Millie” began life on May 6, 1931 in Liverpool, Nova Scotia, Canada, as the youngest of seven children born to parents Thomas and Reta (Harper) Falls.

Upon finishing her formal education, she was certified as a professional seamstress. She was employed as supervisor of hostesses for the coffee shops at the Southern Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary Alberta, Canada. She later worked as supervisor of cosmetics at Hudson Bay department store.

After marrying George R. Roberts on March 19, 1966, in Canada, the happy couple moved into the house George had built for her, on Romine Street, in Urbana. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2007. Also preceding her in death was one son, Robert A. Wilson.

Millie is survived by her children, Rose (Wilson) Chiron of Calgary Alberta, Canada, Sherry (Wilson) Sayles, Urbana, IL, Michael G. Roberts, Champaign, IL, and Darrell J. Roberts, Tampa, Florida. Also surviving are her son-in-law Reggie Sayles, daughter-in-law Deirdre Roberts, nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and a host of honorary children, nieces and nephews and friends. Baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1948, Millie loved God and people.

She enjoyed the public ministry and continued sharing in it faithfully until her health deteriorated. She had a fine reputation in her community, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Flower gardening and cooking brought her pleasure.

She was an approachable, kind, loving and warm woman who loved life and appreciated the hope of the resurrection. (Acts 24:15) Memorial contributions may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses or online at www. jw.org.
