NILES – Miriam Pantalone 80, passed away peacefully at 7:10 a.m. on Sunday January 13, 2019 at the Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home, Niles. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 29, 1938 a daughter of Thomas and Assunta (Zollo) Paolicelli Sr She graduated from the William J. Maxwell Needle Trade School in Brooklyn and has lived in the Niles area most of her adult life.

Miriam devoted her life to God, Family and her Church. She was a loving wife, mother, homemaker, seamstress, excellent baker, cook and canned vegetables from their garden. She loved spending time with her family and relatives and was blessed when everyone could be together especially during the holidays.

From 1967 to 1992 she was the bookkeeper at Pantalone Service Center. Miriam was an active member of the Austintown Highway Tabernacle and the First Christian Assembly in Liberty. For many years she was involved and organized many of the church activities, Vacation Bible School, Women’s and Girl’s Ministry, Cantato Passion Plays, Bereavement Funeral Dinners and sang alto in the church choir.

She tutored at Niles Washington Elementary School. Miriam was a member of the Niles McKinley High School Football Mothers and organized the concession stands on football game nights. Miriam is survived by her daughter, Debra Sue (Robert) Haseley of Canfield; son, James T. (Marsha) Pantalone II of Howland; three grandchildren, Jason Robert (Taylor) Haseley of Poland, Sara Elizabeth (Daniel) Beilstein of Poland, Mia James Pantalone of Howland; great granddaughter, Sophia Jade; two sisters, Lillian Barrale of Queens, New York, Beatrice Angela (Benjamin) Girimonte of Long Island, New York.

Miriam was preceded in death by her parents, husband James Thomas “Jim” Pantalone Sr. whom she married on October 19, 1963 and who passed away on June 15, 2018; two brothers, Emanuel and Thomas Jr. Paolicelli. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 and 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, Niles. The Funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the funeral home.

The Rev. Duane Bull will officiate. Burial will be at the Niles City Cemetery.
