Ernest “Ernie” Rozier of Niles passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:05 a.m. in his residence surrounded by his loving wife Dawn and his long-time caregiver, brother in law, Robert Scharfenberg. He was 61. Ernie was born on September 8, 1957 in Warren, the son of the late Ernest Rozier and Leola Manson.

He attended Niles City School System. Ernie was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Youngstown, where he was the facility manager for two years and assisted in helping the homeless and less fortunate through Good Shepherds Kitchen at the church. Ernie was an involved member of AA, he attended dialing meetings and was a part of the Youngstown Intergroup and his home group was Blessed Sacrament Tuesday night meetings.

In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was camping, sitting next to a lake with his fishing pole, or riding his Harley Davidson. Ernie is survived by his wife, Dawn Ann Scharfenberg Rozier, whom he married June 27, 2010; a daughter, Nicole Rozier of Columbus, OH; a son Ernest Rozier IV of Girard; a step daughter, Savannah Lee Ann Crislip of Kinsman; a sister, Diane Rozier of Warren; a brother, Jerry (Yvonne) Rozier of Niles; 3 half-brothers, Robert Henry of Niles, Martin Henry of Niles and Ernie Rozier of New Castle PA ; 2 half-sisters Ernestine (Squire) Cross and Mary Rozier, both of Youngstown; 4 grandchildren, Tatyana Rozier, Allyonnah Rozier, Scarlett Rozier and Quinton Taylor; 2 great grandchildren, Tae’Vonn Dorsey Jr. and A’Nylah Dorsey; In addition, Ernie is also survived by a daughter, Tara Harvey of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Michael and Curtis Rozier; and 2 sisters, Judy and Jackie Rozier.
