Monica Merla Maudine McGinty Bailey died peacefully in her favorite chair on February 25, 2019. Maudine was born on December 1, 1928, to Thomas Love McGinty and Maude Muckleroy McGinty, in the Kelsey community, Texas. She was married to Milton Travis (Bates) Bailey, Jr. and he preceded her in death October 13, 2015.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings. She retired after many years of service with Southwestern Bell and AT&T as an Operator, Service Assistant, Chief Operator and Supervisor. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Pamela Hunter and husband, Myron; grandchildren, Scott Michael Hunter, Sandra Bridgewater and Erica Hunter; 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; sisters, Alice Simmons, Mozelle Coward and Noma Christman; brother, James Robert McGinty.

Funeral services for Maudine M. Bailey, 90, of Longview, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Longview, Texas with Charles Schroeder conducting. Interment will follow at Kelsey Cemetery, Gilmer, Texas. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, March 1, 2019 at McWhorter Funeral Home.
