Nancy (Gaylord) Hine Krampitz, 86, formerly of Harwinton, widow of Reinhardt Krampitz and Arthur Hine passed away Friday September 28, 2018 at Sonata Boynton Beach Assisted Living, FL. Mrs. Krampitz was born July 18, 1932 in Bristol, CT, daughter of the late Irving and Florence (Monroe) Gaylord. Nancy grew up in Terryville and when she married Arthur Hine they moved to Harwinton and she resided there for over 60 years.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Terryville and member of the Ladies Aid and The Bell Choir of the church. Nancy was a Sunday School teacher and a 4-H leader for 20 years. She was a member of the Harwinton Agricultural Society, Association of Conn.

Fairs and the CT Oxen Assoc. One of her favorite pastimes was attending the Litchfield County Fairs of Connecticut. The family of five children and her late husband enjoyed entering their oxen at the fairs and in pulling competitions.

Nancy kept busy announcing the contest and keeping records and the time allowed for each pair. They traveled to fairs in MA, ME, NY and NJ. She and her late husband Reinhardt enjoyed traveling to visit children, attending fairs and volunteering to help with the many chores to be done in the summer at the Harwinton Fair.

She is survived by her daughters, Charleen Chevalier of Harwinton, Kathleen Meyer and husband, Jay of FL; her sons, Duane Hine and Noreen Palasciano of Shelburne Falls, MA, Nathan Hine and Kim Witkoski of Worthington, MA, Russell Hine and wife, Rachael of Livermore Falls, ME and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also leaves her step children, Deborah Senior and husband James of Terryville, Randall Krampitz and wife, Jan of Thomaston, Kim Daughtery and husband, Robert of NH, and her step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, she also leaves her brother, Gary Gaylord and wife, Myra of Rennselear Falls, NY; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Jeannette Borkowski, Gwendolyn Watkins and Patricia Kozikowski and her brother, Irving Gaylord.

Funeral services will be held 10:00AM on Saturday October 6, 2018 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Terryville. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Terryville. Relatives and friends may call at the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St., Terryville on Friday from 6 – 8PM.
