Obituary for Nancy Jean DeShields Nancy Jean Cassell DeShields, 83, widow of Garvin A. DeSheilds, passed away on November 7, 2018. A native of Spartanburg County, daughter of the late Leroy and Athalee Masters Cassell, she was a former waitress of Cannon’s Restaurant and of the Baptist Faith. Surviving are one daughter, Debbie D. Thurston of Duncan of Duncan; one grandson, Sean Thurston (Beth) and one great-grandson, Joshua Thurston.

Mrs. DeShields was predeceased by three brothers, Elmer Cassell, Horace Cassell and Wayne Cassell. Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Hillcrest Memory Gardens conducted by Rev. Keith Kelly.

Visitation will be held 6:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018 at The Wood Mortuary. The family is at the home of the daughter. Online condolences may be made at www.
