Nancy Wyant Arnette January 05, 1920 – January 22, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries Nancy Wyant Arnette, 99 of Charlottesville passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Morningside Assisted Living. She was born on January 5, 1920 in White Hall, Va. to A.K. Wyant and Lucy S. Wyant.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Arnette and thirteen siblings. Mrs. Arnette was a very active member of First United Methodist Church until her mid- 80’s. She helped start the “Soup Kitchen”, (now called “Bread and Blessings”), at First United Methodist Church.

She was very involved in Women’s Circles, (now known as UMW), Walker William’s Sunday School class and other Outreach Ministries of the church. She is survived by two daughters; Ann Arnette Hamner and husband Jack, and Sue Leigh Arnette, grandchildren; Scott C. Hamner and wife Kimmy and Jennie L. Hamner, great-grandchildren; Addison Hamner, Landon Critzer and Cameron Critzer and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Hill and Wood Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens. A special thank you to the staff at Morningside Assisted Living for their love and care over the past 12 years. We would also like to thank Legacy Hospice for their care and services.

There will be no visitation, but anyone wishing to pay their respects may do so at Hill and Wood Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may send a contribution to First United Methodist Church, (please note “Bread and Blessings on the memo line), 101 E.
