OBITUARY Nicholas Walter Ibsen May 16, 1979 – July 21, 2018 Nicholas “Nick” Walter Ibsen, 39, formerly of East Hartford, beloved son of Elizabeth A. (Kosar) Ibsen of Manchester and Brian P. Ibsen of Chicago, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly at his home on July 21, 2018. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 16, 1979. Nick attended several schools in Massachusetts and Connecticut until his graduation and then attended college in California briefly before coming back to Connecticut to start working in construction.

He excelled in all the various aspects of construction such as roofing, carpentry and plumbing, to name a few. In his free time, he thoroughly enjoyed writing and had the gift of creating beautiful poetry. Nick will be forever remembered by his loving parents and brothers, Alex Ibsen and husband Ruben Mendiola of Miami Beach, Florida and Peter Ibsen and fiancé Sheri Shiflett of Riverside, California.

He is also survived by his uncles, Walter Kosar, Jr. and wife Mary, Jeff Ibsen and wife Adele, and Mark Ibsen; his aunts, Susan Kosar-Beery and husband Jack and Linda Krause and husband Bob. Nick was predeceased by both sets of grandparents, Dr. Walter and Pauline Kosar and Alfred and Mary Ibsen, as well as his aunt, Barbara Bodman. A celebration of Nick’s life will take place on Saturday (August 4) at 12 noon at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd.

, Wethersfield. Family and friends may call prior to the celebration, from 11-12 PM, at the funeral chapel. Donations in Nick’s memory may be made to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 41 Park St, Manchester, CT 06040.
