Obituary for Niki Giforos Our loving mother, Niki Giforos, 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at her home in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She was born in Axladokambos, a small village in southern Greece, on November 14, 1940, to Christos Sellis and Vasiliki Siambos. She was the second oldest of four children.

She was married in Axladokambos, Greece on October 17, 1963 to George Petros Giforos. Afterwards, they came to the United States where their four children were born. She attended sewing school as a youth and learned many important things helping her mom and dad on their farm in Greece.

She loved to cook, garden, read, sing, and exercise. She loved to say funny things in Greek to make everyone laugh. She also loved going to the Greek Festivals (Panagiris), enjoying the wonderful food, and dancing to Greek music.

She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and neighbors. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was always concerned for their welfare. Her deep concern and care for others was a hallmark of her life.

She is survived by her children, Pete Giforos (Maria), Chris Giforos, and Vicki Giforos, her sister, Dena Nichols, her brother, Sotiro Sellis, her grandchildren, Zachary Giforos, William Giforos, and Max Giforos, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, George, her daughter, Panayota, her brother, Trifona Sellis, her niece Vasso Sellis, and her parents, Christos and Vasiliki Sellis. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, caretakers, neighbors, and friends for their outpouring of love, kindness and care.

The graveside service will take place on Tuesday September 4th at 11am at the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, 600 North 100 West, Pleasant Grove, Utah (the North/West newer area of the cemetery). Please share memories and condolences at www.
