Nora Lee Russ Crowell of Haines City, FL, 91 passed away February 23, 2019. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all.

Born in Lakeland, Florida, Nora settled in Haines City over 62 years ago where she raised two sons with her husband of over 50 years. Nora was a working mother and wife surrounded by a house full of men. She worked in banking and at Publix in earlier years, and owned Crowell’s Clothing Store alongside her husband before she embarked on her career with B.C. Cook and Sons where she retired after 20 years of service.

Nora enjoyed traveling. Raised in Central Florida, her roots were strong, but so were her wings. She and her husband traveled to many places around the globe.

She shared stories about their trips to Europe, Italy, and Greece. They also took many trips out west including a long vacation exploring Glacier National Park and the surrounding areas. Nora enjoyed travel, animals and the outdoors.

All of these things made her life fuller and sweeter, but her greatest joy was to be surrounded by her greatest love; her family. She was fiercely loyal to her loved ones. This summer she was excited to meet the newest member with the arrival of her first great great granddaughter.

Days shared with family and friend were her most beloved. Nora is preceded in death by her parents, Judson Russ Sr. and Nora Leona Russ, husband of over 50 years, Little Mike Crowell Sr., bothers, Paul Russ and Judson Russ Jr., sister Nan Russ Linder. Surviving are her two sons Little Mike Crowell Jr., Little Richard Crowell, three granddaughters, Stephanie Crowell McMurdo (Scott), Sherry Crowell Nelson, Casey Crowell Baker (Chris), seven great grandchildren, Lea McMurdo Camp (Brett), Lauren McMurdo, Jonathan McMurdo, Sloan Nelson, Little Nate Nelson, Scout Baker, Logan Baker and her great great granddaughter, Isla Camp.

She is also lovingly remembered by a number of beloved nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Oak Ridge Funeral Care of Haines City on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm A funeral service will follow immediately after at 2:00 pm In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Good Shepherd Hospice (Forsythe Hospice House) 105 Arneson Avenue, Auburndale, FL 33823.
