Norma’s Obituary Norma Raydell Hightower, age 80, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 25, 2019 in Childress surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 2pm at The Childress Church of Christ directed by Trey Morgan. Burial will be under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 6 – 8pm at Johnson Funeral Home. Raydell was born on October 19, 1938 in Northfield, Texas to Nolan and Guaneth Elizabeth (Moore) Thomas. She married Teddy Hightower on January 5th 1957.

They were blessed to have been married for 62 years. Teddy and Raydell have three children Debra, Gary and Nola, and 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Raydell was very active in church and enjoyed any family gatherings, especially those that included grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was a wonderful woman who always put church and family first. Raydell “Meme” enjoyed china painting and being outdoors. Raydell will be dearly missed here on earth, however, the family knows she is already singing in heaven and is at true peace.

Raydell worked at First Federal Savings & Loan, Vernon Savings, and Livingston Hearing Center. She and Teddy owned and operated Hightower Hydraulics for over 25 years. She is preceded in death by her parents and great granddaughter Kylie Nolen.

Survivors include her husband Teddy; children Debra & Rusty Favor, Gary & Karen Hightower, Nola & Michael Worthington; grandchildren Cody Favor, Dustin Favor, Aleesha Hightower, Amanda Hightower, Kyle Christopher, Kely Kitchens and Konner Worthington; great-grandchildren Nick Webster, Landon Nolen, Hunter & Keegan Favor, Kambry, Kane & Kase Kitchens, Carson Hall, Kivey Christopher, Paden & Jaxon Davidson; and several extended family and friends including Claudia Hightower. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the CRMC Hospice, PO Box 1030, Childress, TX 79201 or We Can Care, P.O. Box 7, Childress, TX 79201.
