Norma Sue Smith Sain, 74, of Cherryville, passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 at Carolinas HealthCare System Lincoln in Lincolnton. Born in Cleveland County on September 19, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Marcus Hana Smith and Lillian Dessie McNeilly Smith. She was retired a school teacher for Lincoln County Schools and attended Risen Church in Lincolnton.

She is survived by her sister, Martha Snavely and husband Ed of Gastonia; stepson, Arnold Sain and wife MariLynn of Vale; five stepdaughters, Glenda Wise and husband, Howard, Debbie Alvarado and husband Victor, Vickie Sain, Rita Sain, and Nelta Sain all of Vale; ten step grandchildren, fourteen step great grandchildren; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston.

The funeral service will be on Monday at 2:00 PM at Risen Church, Lincolnton with the Rev. Justin Houser officiating. The burial will follow in the Hull’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Vale.

Memorials may be made to Risen Church Building Fund, 571 Salem Church Rd, Lincolnton, NC 28092. Arrangements by Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Fallston.
