Bissett, of Evart, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Spectrum Health Big Rapids Hospital. He was 82. Mr. Bissett was born June 15, 1936 in Evart to Edward Eldon and Bula Iola (Mongar) Bissett.

Norm was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He married Carol I. Bennett on May 6, 1961 in Evart. Norm worked several different jobs, American Logging Tool, Bennett Sawmill, worked in the oilfields, drove semi, and installed satellite dishes.

He was a lifelong Evart area resident and was a Life Member of the DAV. Norm enjoyed computers and watching NASCAR racing. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol I. Bissett of Evart, his daughter Kenda (John) Straathof of Hersey, his son Frank (Ruth Ann) Bissett of Arizona, his granddaughter Becky Crisler of Newaygo, his grandson Jared Dieson of York, Maine, and two great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Christian Crisler.

He was the last of six siblings, Grace, Jack, Orville, Mid, Norm and Forrest (Cub). It was Mr. Bissett’s wishes to be cremated after giving to Gift of Life and there are no services planned at this time.
