Norman’s Obituary Norman Leon Hammond, 72, of Clinton, Wisconsin, formerly of Beloit, Wisconsin and McHenry, Illinois, passed away at Beloit Memorial Hospital on Friday, May 17, 2019. Norman was born on May 13, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Marion Theodore and Lorna Wanda (Morrison) Hammond. He served his country in The United States Army and was honorably discharged on April 15, 1969.

Norman married, Marie Wainwright Rosecrants on June 13, 1970 in Chicago, Illinois. Norman was employed for over 35 years by the United States Postal Service in Chicago, McHenry, and Deerfield, Illinois. He enjoyed spending time; woodworking, taking trips to casino’s, working on his 1962 Chevrolet Corvair, going to car shows and races, and attending the Indianapolis 500 with his oldest son and grandsons.

Norman is survived by his wife, Marie Hammond of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin; children, Toby (Cindy) Hammond of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, Sheryl (Jason Riha) of Davis, Illinois, Tim (Danielle Hall) Hammond of Clinton, Wisconsin, and Steve (Dawn Meligan) Hammond of Beloit, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Brandon (Teagan Ackley) Fedor, T.J. Hammond, Eric Merritt, Daniel Meligan, and Jack Hammond; great-grandson, Odin Fedor; sisters-in-law, Irene Broaddus of Lena, Illinois, Dawn Rosecrants of Melrose Park, Illinois, and Michaelene Fiedler of Beloit, Wisconsin; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ivan Broaddus; daughter-in-law, Tobi Hammond; brother-in-law, Eddie Fiedler; and sister-in-law, Maxine Barry. Funeral services are 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Hansen-Gravitt Funeral Home, 424 Prospect Street, Beloit, Wisconsin 53511 with Reverend Mike Ligman of Emerald Grove UCC in Janesville, Wisconsin officiating.

Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Committal with military honors provided by the Mead-Allen VFW Post 2306 will follow the services at Shopiere Cemetery in Shopiere, Wisconsin. Online condolences can be shared at www. hansengravitt.com.
