Obituary for Norman Miller Norman Miller, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on November 10, 2018 following a brief illness. Norman was a native of Hampton TN, the son of the late Charlie and Nancy Miller. Norman was an active member of Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church in Erwin.

He was retired from Nuclear Fuel Services, where he was a maintenance man for forty-two years. He was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves and the United States Army, where he received the Good Conduct Medal. He was a friend to everyone and was known for helping people.

Norman loved fishing and working in his garden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Arnold Bailey and Floyd Bailey, and sisters Maimie Hyder and Esteline Ellison. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gretchen Miller; a daughter, Jodi Salts and husband David of Jonesborough, TN; two sons, Russell Miller and wife Jill of Tullahoma, TN, and Stephen Miller and wife Crystal of Kingsport, TN.

His grandchildren included a granddaughter, Megan Emery and husband Wesley; and three grandsons, Trevor, Christian, and Ian Miller. He is also survived by his sisters, June Heaton and Maxine Vance, as well as brothers, Garnie Miller, Roy Miller, and Dale Miller. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Norman Miller in a funeral service to begin at 7:00 PM on Monday, November 12, 2018 in the chapel of Valley Funeral Home.

Reverend Roger Laws and Reverend Stephen Miller will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00 pm and will continue until service time on Monday at Valley Funeral Home. A committal service will be held at Sims Hill Christian Church Cemetery in Elizabethton on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 1:00 PM.

Those who wish to attend will meet at the cemetery by 12:50 PM. Those serving as active pallbearers will be David Salts, Trevor Miller, Christian Miller, Ian Miller, Wes Emery, and Roy Lacey. Honorary pallbearers will be Calvin Haun, Kenneth Phillips, Willis Adkins, and Gary Pension.
