Ora Atwood, 89, of Scottsville, KY passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Cal Turner Rehab and Specialty Care. The Scottsville, KY native was a former employee of Detrex, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, attended Byram’s Chapel Church, member of Shady Grove General Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon and Sunday school teacher, former Deacon and Sunday school teacher at Victory Hill Ministries. He was a son of the late James Burton Atwood and Bertha Oliphant Atwood and husband of the late Recka Willofene Tabor Atwood.

He is survived by 1 son: Russell Atwood, Portland, TN; 2 sisters: Patty Stovall Reneau and Barbara Rascoe and husband, Gerald, all of Scottsville, KY; 1 granddaughter: Jessica Pope and husband, Hunter, Portland, TN. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers: Billy, Willard, Paul, Sr., James Earl and J.D. Atwood and 3 sisters: Mildred Owens, Janice Petty and Lou Welch. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Goad Funeral Home with Bro.

Donald Key officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 7:00 A.M. Thursday until funeral time.
