Oral’s Obituary Funeral services for Mr. Oral Ryland Griffin will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2019 in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville. Interment will follow in Emmanuel Cemetery, Chopin, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville. Mr. Griffin, 88, of Colfax, entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria, LA.

He was a graduate of Cloutierville High School and a college graduate of Northwestern State University, with a Masters degree in Education. He retired after thirty-five years of service with the Grant Parish School System, where he was a teacher and librarian. In his leisure time he enjoyed going to farmers markets and selling produce at the Natchitoches Cane River Green Market.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Grace Griffin; his wife, Nancy Ray Trotter Griffin and his stepdad, Nelcom Vercher. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include one son, Jeffrey Ryland Griffin, of Colfax; one daughter, Jennifer Elizabeth Griffin Cieslak and her husband, Michael, of Colfax; two brothers, Curtis Vercher, of Tioga and Carl Vercher, of Colfax; one sister, Sue Vercher, of Longview, TX.
