Obituary for Patricia Van Dresar (Dailey) Patricia D. Van Dresar, age 81, of Rome, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2018, at Rome Memorial Hospital, with her family at her bedside. Patricia was born in Washington, D.C. on October 15, 1936 to the late Robert B. and Frances Vredenburg Dailey. She graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1955.

On January 24, 1959, she was united in marriage to Richard N. Van Dresar at the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Rome; a blessed union of 55 years until his passing on February 5, 2014. Patricia worked as the Deputy City Clerk of Rome for two years and at Griffiss AFB as a secretary, retiring in October 1991, after 20 years of dedicated service. She loved to read and was very proud of her Irish heritage.

Patricia is survived by a daughter, Tamra Spencer of Wrightsville, PA; two sons and a daughter in law, Robert and Mary Lynn Van Dresar of Sherrill, and Mark Van Dresar and his fiancée, Carol Ozburn of Pensecola, FL; her grandchildren, Heather and Alisha Redmond, and Cortney, Kendyl, Robert, and Megan Van Dresar; a great granddaughter, Emma Rose Redmond; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter in law, Heather Van Dresar; a son in law, James Spencer; her sisters, Beverly Lusby and her twin, Peggy Smith; and a brother, James Dailey. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Patricia’s name can be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215. Arrangements are entrusted to the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Chestnut Street.
