Obituary for Patricia Jean Smith Patricia Jean Smith RACINE – Patricia Jean Smith, 92, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Ridgewood Care Center. She was born in Racine on July 5, 1925 to Eve Virginia (Hermansen) Astrup and William V. Astrup. Her great grandparents came from Denmark to settle in Racine.

She graduated from Washington Park High School and attended the University of Wisconsin Madison. She was a lifelong member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church, as was her family before her and also St. Lucy Catholic Church. She married Roy C. Smith on June 8, 1998 and they were blessed with much happiness in their years together.

After their marriage, they both attended St. Lucy Catholic Church as faithful members. Roy preceded her in death on March 29. 2005.

Patricia loved all animals, music and nature. She also had a great love for her feline companions, Asmus and Zelda, who preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Pamela Eve Stace, Roy’s children, Theresa (Bucky) Blaser of Green Bay, Cathleen (Randolph) Rouze, Maureen Smith, all of Racine, Randall Smith of Kenosha, and Ronald Smith of Sturtevant; granddaughters, Kimberly Rouze, Elizabeth Rouze, and Jana Rodriquez.

She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lewis Brown on January 4, 1973. Committal prayers and burial will be held at Mound Cemetery on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. Please meet at cemetery entrance.
