Patricia Parker September 01, 1946 – March 22, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Funeral services for Patricia Ann Parker, age 72, of Shelbyville, will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2019 in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Brother Ron DeWitt officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Mrs. Parker passed from this life Friday, March 22, 2019, surrounded by her family at Glen Oaks Health & Rehab after an extended illness.

Visitation will be held prior to funeral service starting at 12:00 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home. A native of Bedford County, Patricia was born September 1, 1946, to the late Johnnie Clinton “JC” and Bertie Mae Rollins Donegan and is preceded in death by her brother Johnny Donegan. She was a faithful member of the First Church of The Nazarene, where she also taught sunday school for many years until she was unable.

She worked for 10 years at the Cottage Boutique, did in-home child care for many years, a homemaker, and a fabulous cook. She enjoyed cheering on UT VOLS in football and basketball, but her love was for her God Jesus Christ, her family, and for all children. Survivors include: her loving husband of 55 years, Sam Parker; children, Jamie (Paula) Parker of Shelbyville, Karen Darnell of Murfreesboro, and Kim (Darrell) Taylor of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Britney (Jamie) Warren, Brandon (Morgan) Darnell, Justin (Lacey) Taylor, Samantha (Brandon) Brown, Peyton Parker, and Jamison Parker, 3 great grandchildren; brother, Roger (Claudia) Donegan, and Brenda (Clark) Wright both of Shelbyville, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Shelbyville First Church of Nazarene Children’s Ministry or to the church’s children’s camp fund. Doak-Howell Funeral Home is serving the family. www.
