OBITUARY Patricia Rioux March 19, 1943 – September 14, 2018 Patricia “Patty” Rioux, 75, passed away on September 14, 2018. She was married to the late Ronald W. Rioux, and is survived by two sons: Christopher P. Rioux of North Attleboro and James M. Rioux of St. Paul, Minnesota, and three Grandchildren. Patricia grew up in Norwood, MA and she graduated from Notre Dame Academy and Chandler School for Women.

She started her civil service career as a school crossing guard, EMT, Sealer of Weights and Measures, Auxiliary Police Officer, Special Police Officer for town of Dennis, and finished as Police Dispatcher for over 30 years for the Town of Medfield. Patty met her husband of 56 years through a mutual friend and they decided to raise their family in Medfield, MA. She loved knitting, embroidery, needlepoint, making Nantucket Lightship Baskets, caning chairs, and had a passion for gardening and growing beautiful flowers.

She was a member of numerous clubs and committees for the Town of Medfield, including: Historical Society, Garden Club, Bi-Centennial Committee and the 350th Committee. She was her boy’s Cub Scout Den Mother and she taught CCD classes. She also loved counting ballots for the Presidential elections.

She recently lost her husband, Ronnie, of 56 years and showed the true meaning of “Can’t live with him, can’t live without him”. Visitation will be held on Friday September 21, 2018 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home, Route 134, South Dennis, MA. A funeral mass will follow at 11 a.m. at the Our Lady of the Cape in Brewster, MA.

Burial will follow at the Vine Lake Cemetery, Medfield, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Compassionate Care Hospice 100 Myles Standish Blvd. , Taunton, MA 02780.
