Patrick’s Obituary Patrick Gerald Donovan, age 64, Joplin, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Mercy of Joplin after a sudden illness. Pat was born May 27, 1954 in Peoria, Illinois, son of the late Gerald Leo Donovan and Lucille Mary Emmerling Donovan. He graduated from Central High School in Springfield, Missouri in 1972, and then served in the United States Army.

He moved to Denver, Colorado where he worked for Weaver Electric, and then in 1992 moved to Kansas City and worked for Dillard’s Department Store where he was a store manager. He then moved to Springfield in 1991 where he owned and operated a landscaping company. Pat moved to Joplin in 1996.

In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by a brother, Alan Donovan. Survivors include his brother, Timothy Donovan of O’Fallon, Missouri; sisters, LuAnn S. Donovan of Loma Linda, Karen Donovan and Mary Fults both of Webb City; sons, Michael Patrick Donovan and Shaun Michael Pettis; caregiver and companion, Misty Bradford. Memorial service will be Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Bob Bradford officiating.

The family will visit with friends and family following the service. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
