Richard “Rich” Jones January 12, 1938 – January 26, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Richard Frederick “Rich” Jones, age 81, Carl Junction, formerly of Sarcoxie, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at a local nursing center. Rich was born January 12, 1938 in Webb City, Missouri, one of thirteen children born to the late Mose Franklin Jones and Sylvia Emma Pequignot Jones. He graduated from Carl Junction High School in 1956, married Beverly Cole, and went to work for Frisco Railroad.

He then served in the United States Army where they were stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. He moved to Sarcoxie where he continued working with the Railroad before retiring after 25 years as a Station Agent. He then began farming, and operated a Turkey Farm for many years before retiring and moving to Carl Junction.

In addition to his parents, Rich was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Jones, and a sister, Margaret Jones. Survivors include his children, Joyce Throneberry and husband Ken of Webb City; son, Roger Jones and wife Lori of Neosho; Beverly Jones of Webb City; grandchildren, Zachary Jones and wife Kasie of Joplin, Nicole Arft and husband Clay of Oronogo, Ashley Shilling and husband Daniel of Joplin, Bradley Throneberry and wife Leah of Joplin, Megan Goswick and husband Cody of Avilla; great-grandchildren, Austin Arft, Abby Arft, Logan Throneberry, and Cora Shilling; brothers, Larry Jones of Carl Junction, Al Jones and wife Linda, and David Jones all of Joplin; sisters, Ruth Crockett of Joplin, Helen Landes and husband Carl of Carl Junction, Alice Ellis and husband Herman of Joplin, Delores Jackson and husband Ralph of Springdale, Arkansas, Janice Marquardt of Joplin, Norma Koon of Joplin, Linda Jones of Hampton, Virginia, and Marilyn Whitaker of Lawton, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Barbara Smith of Asbury, Missouri; several nieces, nephew, and great-nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Monday, January 28, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Randy DePriest officiating.

Interment of his ashes will be at a later date in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
