Patrick Leonard Haines, also known as “Rat”, 54, of Dunbar, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday May 19, 2018. He was born April 11, 1964 in Connellsville, the son of the late William and Shirley (Hoover) Haines. He was a graduate from Connellsville High School and served our Country in the United States Army.

Rat loved swimming down at the river, and especially at ‘Turtle’, where many knew him as the ‘Caretaker of Turtle. ’ His grandchildren were everything to him. He was a member of the Abundant Life Church, Uniontown and was devoted to God.

Rat is survived by his daughter, Christina Haines; his son, Nick Jacobs; grandchildren, Natalie, Ethan and Kaiden; brothers and sisters, Rick Haines and wife Melissa, Kimberly ‘Cissy’ Finchum and husband John, MaryLou Capan and husband Mark and Jeff Haines and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David ‘Teet’ Haines. Family and friends will be received in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC.

418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville on Thursday from 2 to 4pm and from 6pm until the hour of the Military Rites that will be accorded by the VFW Post 21 and the American Legion Posts 301 and 762 at 7:30pm and the funeral service that will immediately follow with Garrett Howard officiating.
