Patti Lynn Huddleston was born December 19, 1957 in Oklahoma City, the younger of two children of Billy Joe Huddleston Sr. and Alma Louise (Blackwell) Huddleston. She was raised in Purcell and attended Purcell Schools, graduating with the Class of 1976.

While in high school, Patti was a member of the Pep Club and remembered most as the loudest voice on the team. Patti then attended the University of Oklahoma where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She married Terry Wilhoit in 1978, and to this union, two children were born daughter, Amye and son, Kerry.

In early 1980, Patti returned home to Purcell, joining the family business, “Alma’s Flowers”. She worked hard perfecting every facet of her craft, thus earning the status of Certified Master Florist. Patti was a genuine sweetheart, outgoing and yet sincere and she had a gift for blessing others with her talents.

She was a member of the Oklahoma State Florist Association, and considered it a great joy to work with her mom, Alma and her daughter, Amye. To say that Patti was a sports fan might be an understatement. She loved anything and everything about her OU Sooners and of course, the Purcell Dragons.

Patti’s life would change forever when her grandchildren came along, and she embraced her role as the leader of “Team Nana”. She traveled many miles, watching and supporting them and she looked forward to weekends in the gym or at the softball fields. Patti lived each and every day for Karson, Brynley, Klaire and Karter.

Patti was a woman of great faith and served faithfully for many years as Sunday school director. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Purcell, and also enjoyed attending Victory Family Worship in Norman, as she loved worshiping with her family. She will be dearly missed!
