Paul F. “Wimpy” Funston, 83, of Muncy, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport. Born September 28, 1934 in Muncy, he was a son of the late Fredrick Funston and Virginia (Border) Funston Weaver. On December 30, 2006, he married the former Fae (Parks) Frank, who survives.

Together they celebrated 11 years of marriage. Wimpy was a 1954 graduate of Muncy High School. He was a sheet metal worker at the former Sprout-Waldron, now Andritz for 24 years and simultaneously was the owner of Funston Trailer Sales, Muncy.

Wimpy was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Muncy. A gun enthusiast, he enjoyed target shooting and hunting in his earlier years. Wimpy loved camping and traveling to Florida in the winter.

With his machinery knowledge, he was an avid sheet metal and wood worker. Wimpy was also fond of biking. Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter and son-in-law, Athena and Richard Snyder, of Muncy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Cindy Funston and Joel and Bonnie Funston, all of Muncy; a step daughter and step son-in-law, Monica and Daryl Peters, of Lebanon; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Barbara and Oakley Spring, of Muncy and Betty Olsen Shook, of Arizona; four grandchildren, Hollie McElroy, Cory and Cody Funston and Megan Bradley; five step grandchildren, Leilani, Joshua, Anthony, Elise and CeCe Peters; and two great-granddaughters, Makenna McElroy and London Bradley.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, the former Shirley Confer; step father, George Weaver; daughter-in-law, Virginia (Clayton) Funston; sister, Mary Rohm; step brother, Ralph Weaver; step sister, Charlotte Weaver; and a granddaughter, Melissa Snyder. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to noon, Saturday at Grace Baptist Church, 5471 Clarkstown Rd. , Muncy, where the funeral will be held at noon, with his pastor, the Rev.

Charles Teffeteller, officiating. Burial will follow in the Muncy Cemetery. The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to Grace Baptist Church, 5471 Clarkstown Rd.
