A. Paul Fatur “Paul”, 89, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, at New Haven Court, Greensburg. Paul was born Aug.

24, 1929, in Delmont, the second of four sons to the late Anthony “Tony” and Cecilia (Hribar) Fatur. Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He married Rhoma Alberta Kunkle Dec.

26, 1951, who preceded him in death July 10, 2012. In addition to his parents and wife, Paul was also preceded in death by his brothers, Charles (Chuck) Fatur and Edward (Ed) Fatur, both of Delmont. Paul is survived by his children, Karen Peters and husband, Bob, of Hammonton, N.J., Jim Fatur and wife, Pam, of Waterford, Mich.

, and Ken Fatur, of Chicago, Ill. ; four grandchildren, William Trageser, Cole Fatur, Trent Fatur and Evan Fatur; and his brother, Roy Fatur and wife, Carol, of Greensburg. Following two years playing minor league baseball, Paul went on to serve his country as a Corporal in the Army during the Korean War and was stationed on the island of Hokkaido, Japan.

Paul spent most of his career in the lumber industry and retired as vice president of Babcock Lumber. He founded Fatur Forest Products in 1967, which he ran for 20 years, was a vice president at Germain Lumber and served on the executive committee of North American Wholesale Lumber Association (NAWLA). Paul was highly involved in ice hockey as a founder of the Westmoreland Hockey and Hempfield High School hockey programs, president of the Penn State Hockey Booster Club and as a passionate loyal fan.

Given his contributions to Penn State’s program, he was inducted into the Penn State Icer Hall of Fame. He was also an avid golfer. Paul was a longstanding member and served as president of Greensburg Country Club.

He also served on the executive committee of the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association (WPGA) and was a tournament official at several professional and senior golf events. Family and friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 N. Main St., Greensburg.

Additional viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until the hour of Paul’s funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made in honor of Paul’s wife, Rhoma, to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1100 Liberty Ave.
